Griffin Thallions. Confrontation

It was a real pleasure to work on this unit. I used a  Thor's guide about the cracked leather again an now I like the result. To my mind it looks very well on large surfaces.

Griffin Exorcist. Confrontation.

It was very interesting but difficult work.
My first trying to paint OSL was done two years ago:  it was Infinity's Jeanne D'Arc.
I heard that the main mistake here is a wrong light intensity: a basic lighting  must be darker than a torch lighting.  So I really wanted to repeat this experiment.
And when I opened a blister with exorcist and found two crosses there instead of one - I decided to use them as two
candles. Now, it was necessary to put him in a dark place to make a "right" lighting.
The main difficulty for me was to place
non-standard lighted areas because of:  first, two candles, and, second, they are pretty low.
But I tried to deal with that :)

Cairn the Apostle & Griffin Icon-Bearer. Confrontation.

Yesterday there was a great event in Moscow: Russian Alternative organized its first competition Winter Angel 2012. Organizers promised to publish more detailed event report a little bit later. But now I can tell one thing - it was really a very strong competition. There was a huge number of amazing works on it, and I'm sure that judges had a hard time to choose the winners.
Specially for this case I've made several new works. None of them won prizes, but I hope, they worthily took place in this event.
Because a luck of time (as usual before any  competition!) I've decided not to paint a new sguad for the unit category but add some characters to my Griffin Spearmen trio. So I added Cairn the Apostle and Griffin Icon-Bearer.

And another pics of new miniatures:

Griffin Spearmen. Confrontation

The boys have an exceptionally funny armor. I was looking for a long time for their color scheme, as I wanted to do something pathos and  knightly. As a result, I've stopped at the banal red-blue scheme. And I think it suits them.
