Exodite Avatar. WIPs

This is short story of birth of my another favourite project in 2017. It's an Eldar Avatar painted with non-standard color scheme.
Idea of Exodite Avatar was offered me by his owner, Peter Almo. I just tried to bring his vision in reality. Peter, thank you for one more beautiful mini in my portfolio! )

And here's Peter's thougts, which serve me as a starting point for painting:
"The idea is to have the Avatar come out of the lore if the exodite Eldar. The exodites saw the destructive path the Eldar were going down, and left to start new worlds before the downfall. Eventually the eldars extreme decadence brought about the birth of the chaos god slaanesh who destroyed most of the Eldar, that's why there are so few left. The exodites colonized planets many light years away, and there lifestyle became very agricultural and simple. The exodites are characterized by very verdant themes with lots of natural growth and flowers, as the exodites live in very lush, green societies. My idea is that they still worship the Eldar god khaine, but that when he manifests as an Avatar for the exodites, he doesn't appear as molten fiery rock anymore, but rather an explosion of life and nature. I'm imagining a model defined by beautiful overgrowths of nature, with flowers, bursts of green and even wood. "

Ok,  lets go!

Morrigan. Eldar Wraithknight. WIPs

Now I want to tell short story about one of my non-standard project in 2017. It was commission for Eldar Wraithknight. I've painted one before in interesting color scheme  (Cicero), but I didn't want to do the same second time.
So, listing associations and images inside my head I've got an image of Morrigan.

Who is Morrigan? In two words:
Morrigan is the goddess of war in Irish mythology. She is a goddess and in the same time she includes three differend goddesses inside (Badb - fury, Maha - malice, Nemain - poison). Also

I decided to use all this info to create my new Wraithknight.

Eldar Wraithknight «Cicero» WIPs

To my mind EldarWraithknight «Cicero» was my very succesful project at the end of 2014. I've got several emails asking to share some tips during painting. I haven't many but I decided to show all WIPs I have.

Ork Warboss with Attack Squig. WIP2

I've done the skin. There isn't big surface, so it was quickly enough. I repeat this part from my previous step-by-step with ork nob but with other paints.

Ork Warboss with Attack Squig. WIP1

I missed for my lovely orks, and now I have a chance to paint one. The work in process will be posted in parts, and the first is about preparation, as usual.

Ainariël, Elf Hunter. Step-by-step. Part 1.

We (I and Ringil) decided to paint together two miniatures of beautiful women in 54mm scale. We want to show different tehniques and sides of painting almost the similiar minis. My choice was   Ainariël by Andrea miniatures. I bought it three or more years ago, but didn't paint her because I was afraid of fail. But it is not so scare to paint with Marina ).

We think that tutorial will be big and continuous so it's better to split it on several parts. And right now you can find the first part about painting the skin in our Serpentarium blog:

Ainariël, Elf Hunter, and Arlith, Silent Shadow. Part 1.

Here is the skin and the face that I painted during this project:

В следующей части мы планируем остановиться на волосах, одежде и кожаных изделиях.
In the next part we want to show how we did hair, clothes and leather. Stay turned!

Space Eldar Army: HQ on jetbikess. WIP

And this is a last part of big Space Eldar army project. Now I want to share my conversions of Warlock, Farseer and Autarch. The goal was - to sit them on jetbikes. And I've done it.
All they have optional weapon, but I will show it later when they will be painted.

The Wolf's Den. Part 2: Inhabitants.

Ashan-Tyr

In my imagination Ashan-Tyr has some oriental image, so my goal was to overcome this inner conviction and insert her into the forest atmosphere. Also, I really wanted to make her a "peach" skin. The first result was based on the GW Bleached bone, and it hadn't a success, becausу the skin got a greenish dead tone. After a alcohol bath for me Ashan-Tyr  I tried a scheme based on the VMC Ochre brown + VMC Pale sand. And I was quite satisfied with the result.
Then I began to select a clothing. If I was not tied to the woods, be sure I painted the clothes in blue color. But in this context it would look alien, thereforeI chose green.
Here are my attempts to make transparent clothes. I've got some kind of nonsense.

After some agony I decided not to go this hard way, and painted it as usual.
And Ashan-Tyr takes her place in the forest.

Ashan-Tyr in the forest.

Varghar

This "man" did not escape the alchocol bath too. My first choice of color scheme was unsuccessful, cold and lifeless for the forest atmosphere. Here's the step after which he went "swimming":

Armed with warm colors I started all over again. And so my new Varhar was born. To my mind it is my best miniature for today.

The final work will be in the next separate post.

The Wolf's Den. Part 1: The Base

About a year ago I painted a comission work - Headhunter from Confrontation. It was the beginning of my love in this miniatures. And I could not choose a favorite - the "evilDevourers of Vile-Tis, or "good" Wolfen of Illia. Since then, I was sure that these miniatures will decorate my own shelves.

Spam from my "workshop"

I remeber a time when I couldn't start new work without finishing current one. Now it's a chaos. I have about dozen minis(including projects) in work in the same time. So I have not any free time (when one work is drying, for example).
That is what going on my workspace and I know that I will start a pair of new minis this week:

And this is my permanent and old fans: beauty Alexiz and  Worm-Barbariska:
